A contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the Extended School Year (ESY) session from July 6, 2026, to August 7, 2026, with the possibility of consideration for the 2026/2027 school year. This role supports the Compass High Program at a high school in Ludlow, MA, a specialized setting designed for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences. The focus is on providing personalized education aimed at fostering independence and life skills beyond traditional academic settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure and credentials meeting all state requirements for SLP practice
- Experience as a School-based SLP, preferably with CCC certification
- Familiarity with providing AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) services; formal AAC evaluation experience is not required
- Ability to manage a high school caseload in a supportive, specialized education environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills within educational teams
Position Details:
- Location: Assignment in Ludlow, MA; main office located in West Springfield, MA
- Contract duration: July 6, 2026 August 7, 2026
- Hours: 15-20 hours per week, split over 2-3 days
- Caseload: High school students with ASD or other learning differences
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy tailored to students individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate therapy goals within the academic setting
- Support students in developing functional communication skills, including the use of AAC tools
