A school is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) with certification as a School Nurse to provide essential healthcare services within an educational setting. This position supports the well-being of students through direct nursing care, collaboration with educational staff, and management of health-related documentation. The role is based in Cicero, IL, with standard hours from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering nursing care and health services to students in accordance with school policies
- Collaborating as part of a team of 7-8 nurses, serving as program or floor nurses
- Supporting Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes through thorough medical history reviews and documentation
- Managing student health records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Communicating effectively with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to promote student health and safety
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a School Nurse (Certified School Nurse, CSN)
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure applicable in Illinois
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric healthcare preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for handling IEP-related medical reports
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
