This contract opportunity offers two distinct options for licensed Physical Therapists interested in working in school settings over the break. Available opportunities include:
Extended School Year (ESY) Program:
Support students in Special Education and general education schools in person, four days a week. The ESY session runs from June 29th to July 30th, with professional development scheduled for June 25th. Hours vary by placement: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Special Education schools, or 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in general education. This program offers a manageable caseload, with a maximum of 6 billable hours per day (24 hours each week).
Infants and Toddlers Services and Assessments:
Focus on early intervention by providing therapy and conducting assessments for infants and toddlers from June 22nd through July 30th, Monday through Thursday. Sessions are limited to a maximum of 7 hours per day, for a total of 28 hours a week—no Friday work required.
Qualifications:
- Current physical therapy license (valid for school-based practice)
- Prior pediatric or school experience preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary education teams
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, nurturing educational environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized physical therapy according to IEPs or IFSPs
- Conduct assessments and document progress
- Consult with educators, caregivers, and other professionals
- Participate in professional development activities
- Maintain accurate and timely records
