Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - San Jose, CA

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a valid California Special Education Credential authorizing instruction for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, or possess an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
• Previous experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting is highly valued
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
• Commitment to fostering an equitable, supportive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Use various instructional strategies and technologies tailored to meet students’ unique communication needs
• Assess academic progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
• Serve as a resource for general education teachers, providing insights and strategies for inclusion
• Foster a positive, accessible classroom atmosphere that supports language and academic development

Additional Details:

• This position requires onsite presence; virtual or hybrid options are not available
• Full-time hours: 37.5 per week
• Contract runs from August 13th through June 11th
