Discover an inspiring opportunity for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter to make a difference in the educational journey of students near Denver, CO! This contract, full-time, full school year (FSY) position offers an engaging, onsite experience supporting both Special Education and General Education settings, with responsibilities ranging from mild to severe needs.
Take on a dynamic role within an itinerant structure, working across multiple school sites and collaborating with various teams. You will help foster inclusion and accessibility, ensuring that deaf and hard-of-hearing students receive the interpretive support they need to thrive in the classroom and throughout their school day.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Experience interpreting in K-12 school environments (Special Education and/or General Education)
- Strong knowledge of interpreting ethics, confidentiality, and professional standards
- Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites as required
- Skilled in facilitating communication between students, staff, and families
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for students, teachers, and staff in a variety of education settings
- Adapt interpreting style to meet the needs of each student and classroom environment
- Collaborate with special and general educators to support individualized education plans and student access
- Serve as a resource on Deaf culture and interpreting best practices
- Maintain accurate records of services provided
- Work onsite and within an itinerant schedule, supporting multiple locations as assigned
