Job Description
Summary of Position: The Host at Big Chill Beach Club is responsible for making a great first impression on all guests by providing a warm greeting and maintaining awareness of guest’s needs and requests. The Host is a guest satisfaction expert and will maintain order and control by managing the efficient and timely setting of our guests. The Host will obtain guest feedback and bid fond farewells, serving as not only the first impression, but also the last impression as guests depart. This position is critical to setting the stage for success as the Host will be a leader and bring positive energy to their work. Must Enjoy the Ride! *We offer both part-time and full-time hours. This position starts at $15/hour.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests. Smile. Make eye contact. Make all our guests feel comfortable
- Be aware and share guest’s special needs, requests, and desires
- Be a Guest Satisfaction Expert. Feel empowered to make our guests as happy and relaxed as possible
- When immediate seating is not available, record guest names and number of people in the party. Provide guests with estimated waiting time. Monitor accordingly
- Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
- Clear and reset tables, ensuring the table to be seated is clean and properly set
- Pass the Baton. Relay messages to servers and kitchen as needed
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
- Take accurate messages and make sure they are received by management
- Complete opening and closing side-work and weekly cleaning duties
- Be a team player
- Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the company at all times
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 14 years of age
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours)
- Must possess a friendly, outgoing demeanor with a passion for hospitality and providing top-notch guest service
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with management, staff, and guests
- Flexibility in schedule to assume responsibilities as needed
- Strong organizational and time management skills
