Job Description
Summary of Position: The Dishwasher at the Big Chill Beach Club is responsible for washing & cleaning tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. This person will execute daily maintenance and deep cleaning of facilities, focused on keeping the dishroom & equipment clean and organized. Must Enjoy the Ride!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete opening and closing procedures
- Load, run and unload dish machine
- Set-up three bay sink with detergent, rinse, and sanitizer
- Stock all necessary cleaning products
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
- Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware is in appropriate location
- Maintain all dish and food service equipment storage areas
- Keep dish washing area clean and organized
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
- Bag and haul dishroom trash to dumpster at designated times
- Assist with trash removal from other kitchen and BOH areas
- Assist with food prep when needed
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies in all areas
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed, ability to balance work and personal life
