What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paid Media And Social Media Manager position at Big Rig Media?
We are seeking an onsite Paid Media & Social Media Manager who lives in Ads Manager as comfortably as they do in front of a camera. This is not a post-and-pray role, you’ll build and manage paid campaigns across Meta and Google that drive real, measurable business outcomes for a diverse client portfolio, alongside organic content execution.
If you’ve managed five- and six-figure paid media budgets, know how to read performance data and act on it, and can also shoot a Reel when the moment calls for it, keep reading.
You must be self-directed, deadline-driven, and wired to translate social media into business results, not just likes.
Paid Media & Platform Management — Core Requirements
- Proven experience managing five- and six-figure paid media budgets across client accounts with direct accountability for performance outcomes (CPL, ROAS, conversion targets)
- Hands-on expertise in Meta Ads Manager; campaign setup, audience building (custom audiences, lookalikes, interest targeting), ad creative testing, budget management, and optimization
- Proficiency in Google Ads; search campaigns, keyword strategy, match types, quality score, negative keywords, and conversion tracking
- Ability to build, manage, and report on campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, and Google with clarity and confidence
- Working knowledge of Meta Business Suite, Business Manager, pixel setup, and event tracking
- Strong understanding of campaign objectives (awareness vs. traffic vs. lead gen vs. conversions) and when to deploy each
- Comfortable reading and acting on performance data, CPM, CPC, CTR, ROAS, frequency, and making smart budget decisions accordingly
- Proficiency in Google Analytics / GA4 and Google Tag Manager; conversion tracking setup and troubleshooting
Content & Organic Social — Supporting Requirements
- Ability to shoot and/or edit, and post short-form video (Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts)
- Proficiency creating and executing a social media content calendar across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms
- Copywriting skills for captions, comment responses, blog posts, and email/newsletter content
- Familiarity with reputation and directory management — Google Business Profile, Yelp, TripAdvisor, and similar platforms
Who You Are
- You think about social media in terms of performance and ROI, not reach and engagement alone
- You’ve managed multiple client accounts simultaneously and kept every one of them moving
- You can present results to clients and explain what the numbers mean for their business
- You work well independently and thrive in a team environment using Basecamp for project management
- Organized, accountable, and someone who takes ownership without being told twice
Your client base spans outdoor hospitality, manufactured housing, private aviation, retail, construction, and other growth-oriented sectors. Every client is different: you’ll adapt tone, creative, and strategy accordingly.
