The Senior Buyer will lead the merchandising strategy for assigned departments, balancing financial performance, product trends, customer demand, and inventory to drive profitable growth.
This is a high-impact role with responsibility for a multi-million-dollar budget and significant inventory. You'll have a direct influence on what we buy, how we merchandise it, and how it performs across our stores.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies that drive sales, margin, and inventory performance.
- Manage and adhere to Open-to-Buy.
- Analyze sales, margin, sell-through, inventory turn, and product performance.
- Build profitable assortments using data, market trends, and customer insight.
- Make strategic decisions on what to buy, how much to buy, and where inventory should go.
- Build strong vendor relationships and collaborate with stores, warehouse, marketing, and leadership.
- Manage merchandise from planning and procurement through pricing, promotion, and liquidation.
- Attend trade shows and markets to identify trends and new opportunities.
- Take ownership of the financial and inventory performance of assigned departments.
What You'll Bring
- 5 years of retail experience.
- 3 years of buying, purchasing, or procurement experience.
- Experience managing significant or multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Experience with Open-to-Buy and retail inventory management.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Excellent product and merchandising judgment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions and take ownership of results.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Willingness to travel.
