What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embroidery Quality Control Associate position at Big Blanket Co?
We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control & Finishing Operator to join our embroidery department. This role is responsible for inspecting finished embroidered goods, performing final finishing touches, and preparing items for shipment. You'll be the last set of hands on each product before it’s packaged for our customers — so precision, consistency, and care are essential.
Station Setup & Coordination
- Pull boxes and supplies needed for the QC station from warehouse inventory, as needed
- Communicate with production staff on team needs, order priorities and deadlines
- Cut embroidery stabilizer, as needed
Quality Inspection
- Inspect finished embroidery for defects, including puckering, thread breaks, misalignment, and color mismatches
- Flag and set aside items that don't meet quality standards
Finishing
- Remove layers of backing and topper from embroidered design
- Trim reasonably visible stray threads from both the back and front of the embroidered design
- Neatly fold finished products as needed for final presentation
Packing & Fulfillment
- Replace embroidered items in stuff sacks, keeping the embroidery design visible and folding items back to original form
- Place finished items into plastic bags and pack into shipping boxes
- Include packing slips and any inserts (e.g., promotional Big Blanket cards) as required
- Seal boxes using packing equipment (e.g., wet tape machine)
- Hand off and/or assist with palletizing as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in embroidery, garment finishing, or quality control preferred
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive manual tasks
- Good hand-eye coordination for trimming and inspection work
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
