What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stylist, MKV position at BHI Senior Living?
Maple Knoll Communities, a continuing care retirement community, is seeking an advanced licensed Cosmetologist that can also provide nail care services to join our Main Street salon, located inside Maple Knoll Village. We are looking for a part-time Stylist two days per week Tuesday and one additional day of the week. The ideal candidate will be flexible and be willing to work additional hours as needed. No weekends or holidays! Choose your own hours!
The ideal candidate will have 5 years working in a salon and have experience working with the senior living population. Commission pays 60% service and 15% product sales.
As a Stylist your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide hair care services including cuts, color, styling, and treatments for residents with a wide range of hair textures (straight, wavy, curly, coily, etc.)
- Offer manicures and pedicures, maintaining hygiene and relaxation standards
- Build lasting, positive relationships with our senior residents while promoting self-esteem and well-being
- Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting salon space
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure scheduled appointments and exceptional resident experience
- Valid Advanced Cosmetology and/or Nail Technician license in the State of Ohio
- Experience and confidence working with diverse hair types and textures
- Ability to perform both hair and nail services professionally and with sensitivity to the needs of older adults
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Warm, patient, and respectful approach to client care
- Prior experience in a senior or assisted living setting is a plus, but not required
