Payroll Support Specialist

We are seeking qualified candidates to join our team for the following position:

Payroll Specialist

This position helps ensure the success of our staffing division, Beyond TalentEdge, through effective and efficient payroll processes. Administer payroll for new and rehired contract employees. Prepare, evaluate, and track employee time and paychecks. Create billing and complete employee-related forms.

Duties:

• Process payroll each week of approximately 500 timecards – to include manual entry of timecards, as well as timecard and timeclock imports
• Process stop payments and reissue paychecks upon employee request
• Process direct deposit set up and change requests for new and existing employees
• Set up and file child support/wage garnishment payments and track on a weekly basis to ensure proper deductions are withheld
• Set up medical deductions for those electing health insurance and track on a weekly basis to ensure proper deductions are withheld
• Process customer billing weekly including any billing adjustments
• Pay federal and state taxes each week
• Verify new hires with Social Security and NYS
• Assist with cash flow tracking, month end reports, and other payroll reports requested by the Accounting Manager
• Provide high level of customer service to employees with questions and concerns regarding benefits and taxes as they relate to their pay, how to complete timecard entry, who to contact to request forms, where to send completed forms, etc.
• Develop strong communication within the department and as well as with staffing customers and employees

Education and Experience:

• Associates degree in Accounting preferred
• 2 years of payroll experience preferred (accounting experience a plus)
• Experience using databases and with data entry

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledgeable in NYS and federal payroll-related laws including wage deductions, garnishments, tax withholding, etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office - specifically Excel
• High level attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to effectively communicate in writing, in person, or over the phone and in a timely manner
• Bi-lingual preferred

Additional Notes

• This is a full-time, non-exempt level position will be scheduled to work Monday - Friday (37.5 hours).
• Pay range: $25.50 - $28.50 per hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or pay rate, as final offer amount may vary based on different factors such as experience.
