POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Mechanical Engineering Lead at Evolution Well Services (EVO), you will oversee a team of mechanical designers, and manage external engineering service contractors, driving the design and improvement of EVO’s hydraulic fracturing fleet equipment. You will be responsible for organizing and managing engineering change management workstreams related to mechanical system design. This role demands both technical leadership and project coordination to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.

Your primary focus will be executing engineering design projects utilizing a combination of internal resources and external engineering service providers to meet engineering goals on time, within scope and budget. You will play a hands-on role in executing mechanical design tasks while also managing engineering change processes (ECR/ECO/ECN), design documentation, and PDM system utilization. This includes driving enhancements in CAD modeling, drafting standards, and engineering database practices.

Success in this role requires extensive mechanical design experience, expert level proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software, and a solid understanding of Product Data Management (PDM) systems. You will collaborate closely with cross functional teams including Innovation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Asset Integrity, and Manufacturing to support EVO engineering objectives and performance goals. The ideal candidate is highly detail oriented, well organized and capable of driving tasks independently with minimal supervision. A strong sense of ownership, combined with the ability to thrive under pressure is essential for navigating the demands of a dynamic, fast paced operational environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.")
- Responsible for the Mechanical design work projects assigned to the Mechanical Engineering Department of EVO. Technical leadership on all projects will be expected. Create, manage, check and approve drawings, models, procedures and processes.
- Create detailed 2D/3D mechanical models, schematics and drawings using 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD) to meet project specifications.
- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical designers. Identify and implement avenues for refining manufacturing processes, scrutinize production workflows, and implement strategic approaches to amplify efficiency, improve engineering databases, and heighten productivity.
- Manage external engineering service provider(s), ensuring clear scope of work documents are developed and effectively communicated. Commitment dates and budgets for completion are upheld. Act as checker of all work products being submitted in from third party providers and internally to ensure accuracy and completeness and delivery to EVO design and drafting manual standards.
- Collaborate with Beusa Product Database Administration team to maintain and sustain the PDM database for all Evolution Well Services drawings models, design files, and related engineering documentation. Ensure design files are appropriately released into vault ensuring accuracy and compliance to all company standards for engineering documentation.
- Initiate and lead cross functional problem solving sessions with Manufacturing team & Mertz to address manufacturing issues as the arise and implement corrective actions.
- Act as primary reviewer of Mechanical Engineering Change Requests (ECR), determining appropriate action in collaboration with relevant stake holders.
- Develop and manage detailed scope of work documents for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including assigning tasks and monitoring progress through to completion.
- Collaborate with the Product Database administration team to execute Engineering Change Notification (ECN) process.
- Collaborate with other EVO departments such as Innovation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing to support special projects with engineering design and drafting. Determine work priorities and appropriately delegate work tasks to internal and external resources to ensure seamless coordination and timely execution.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, encouraging the team to identify and implement process enhancements and adopt best practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Successfully passes background checks, pre-employment drug screening, and any prerequisite competency assessments.
- Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Daily predictable attendance at EVO’s Corporate Headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline field. Associates degrees with 10 years experience will be considered in lieu of A B.S. Degree.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience generating 3D engineering models & drawings using CAD modeling software (Autodesk Inventor required, PTC CREO experience a plus).
- Proven leadership experience, preferably in a supervisory role within an engineering design department.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and trailer based and mobile frac equipment a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES
- Expertise in 2D CAD (AutoCAD), 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor) is required.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, digital tools, apps, and other advanced software.
- Self-motivated with ability to analyze, determine work task priorities, delegate and lead a team independently.
- Experience utilizing engineering document management system.
- Experience/capability standardizing, implementing engineering change management processes etc. ECR, ECO, ECN.
- Requires the ability to read and develop engineering design drawings with geometric dimensions and tolerancing.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and foundation around teamwork.
- Ability to effectively multitask and maintain the highest attention to details.

The Mechanical Engineering Lead works primarily indoors and will be sitting for prolonged periods at a desk, while typing on a computer, whether in home office, corporate office, client office, or EVO jobsite. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. When required to visit a wellsite, the Mechanical Engineering Lead’s work environment may include exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions, if visiting a pad, the Mechanical Engineering Lead may be required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection and safety gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. Mechanical Engineering Lead must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently, and will be required to walk, climb, bend, reach, squat/kneel.

Work hours may include early morning, late afternoon/evening hours, and weekends in combination depending on job necessity.
