The Role
We are seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented Floor Tech to join our team full-time.
In this role, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, cleaning, and care of all floor surfaces throughout our building—including hard surface floors, carpeted areas, hallways, resident rooms, and common spaces. Key Responsibilities
Floor Maintenance: Perform routine and deep floor care procedures, including floor scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, and carpet extraction/shampooing.
Routine Upkeep: Sweep, dust mop, and wet mop hallways, common areas, dining rooms, offices, and resident rooms.
Equipment Operations: Safely operate floor care equipment (auto-scrubbers, high-speed burnishers, carpet extractors, wet/dry vacuums) and keep equipment clean and in proper working order.
Safety & Compliance: Follow proper chemical handling procedures (SDS guidelines) and place proper safety signage (e.g., "Wet Floor" signs) to ensure resident, visitor, and staff safety.
Environmental Support: Assist the Environmental Services team with heavy cleaning projects, furniture moving for unit turnovers, or trash removal as needed.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 1 year of floor technician or heavy commercial floor care experience (stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet care). Experience in a healthcare facility, senior living, or school setting is a plus!
Equipment Knowledge: Demonstrated experience safely operating commercial floor machines and understanding proper floor care chemicals.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, push/pull heavy floor machines, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout an 8-hour shift.
Reliability & Attitude: Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and a friendly, respectful attitude around senior residents.
