Activities Assistant

Position Overview:

To keep the residents active and stimulated through various activity programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for knowing individual responsibilities, but concerns should be reported immediately to the supervisor.
• Daily activities programs with residents, includes set-up for activities daily and weekly.
• Responsible for the safety of fellow employees, as well judgment is required in order to make independent decisions.
• Extensive responsibility for the maintenance of confidential resident/facility information.
• Endorses and complies with the vision, objectives, procedures, and policies of Bethany Village.

Basic Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the safety of fellow workers as well as residents.
• Judgment is required in order to make independent decisions.
• Adheres to all fire safety & evacuation procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education Required:

• High school diploma is required for this position.
• Ability to read and write English is also required for this position.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License is required.

Experience Required:

• Minimum training time of 1 month should be expected in order to satisfactorily perform this job.

Hazards:

• No significant hazards should be expected for this position.
• MSDS sheets are available for all chemicals used.

• Telephones
• Television/VCR
• Computer
• Copier

Working Conditions:

• Hours: This position may require to work off shifts as necessary.
• Weekends and traveling may be required as needed.
• Working conditions for this position may include the following: Inside, outside, hot, cold, sudden temperature changes, humid, dry, wet, odors, noisy, adequate lighting/ventilation, moving objects, cramped quarters, working with/around others, working alone.

Mental, Physical, & Visual Demands:

• Some moderate lifting required(~20 lbs, @ 5% of the time)
• ~10 lbs, @5% of time
• <10 lbs, throughout the day.
• Constant walking, pushing, talking, hearing, seeing, depth perception, concentration, and maintenance of an appropriate working speed are required for this position.

• Business Casual Dress
• Bethany Village Photo I.D.
