Position Overview
Bethany Community School is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and passionate Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, engage students in meaningful content, and support the diverse academic and social needs of middle school learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality instruction in Social Studies for grade 8
- Develop lessons aligned with state standards and school curriculum
- Use data to inform instruction and support student growth
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues
- Collaborate with grade‑level and content teams
- Participate in school events, professional development, and PLCs
- Support positive student behavior and development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, Education, or related field (preferred)
- North Carolina teaching license (preferred) or ability to obtain
- Strong classroom management and effective instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to student‑centered learning and school values
