Job Purpose
|
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) implements and conducts occupational therapy programs to facilitate the inpatient rehabilitation of children with special needs under the guidance and supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. This position directs patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance and facilitates the learning of those skills essential for function adaptation, self-care and productivity. This position will serve on the Transitional Therapy team. |

Collaborates and communicates effectively with members of the patient care team; performs timely and accurate documentation, and stays up to date on the most recent occupational Therapy techniques through research and CE. |

Helps identify need, orders, and/or fabricates appropriate therapeutic equipment as indicated by patient need. |

Participates in staff trainings, student observations, clinical instruction of students and interns, and family training opportunities. |

Qualifications

Education: |
Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. |

Experience: |
Pediatric experience preferred |
|
License/Certification/Credential: |
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License from State of Oklahoma or proven eligibility for licensing within 3-6 months of employment with temporary license. |
