The School Monitor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during mid-day school hours. This role involves supervising students, maintaining a positive environment, and assisting with various activities to enhance the overall school experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other designated times to ensure safety and proper behavior.
- Monitor student interactions and intervene when necessary
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment in common areas, such as playgrounds and lunchrooms.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding any concerns or incidents.
- Support teachers and staff in implementing school policies and procedures.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and cooperation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in the welfare of students.
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- Must pass a background check and comply with school policies and protocols.
- Availability to work 3 hours per day during school hours (10am-1pm)
