Duties
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper protocols are followed in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and promote engagement in social and recreational activities.
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental health status, including symptoms of dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation including care plans, incident reports, and medical records using EMR systems.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently.
- Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in accordance with HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive medical information.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred.
- LIMA Certified preferred.
- Experience in hospital settings or home care environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with working with seniors.
- Demonstrated ability to use EMR/EHR systems.
- Previous caregiving experience involving medication administration.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management ensures confidentiality at all times.
