What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Shop Foreman (Working Foreman) position at Best Western Transmisson?
Best Western Transmission is hiring a hands-on Automotive Shop Foreman for our Store 001 shop at 920 Delaware Dr, Colorado Springs. This is a WORKING foreman role: you run the shop floor AND turn wrenches. We are a local, family-run drivetrain and general repair shop.
You lead the techs, keep cars moving, hold quality high, and still do skilled drivetrain and general repair work yourself. If you are a strong tech ready to run a floor - or a foreman who never wants to stop building - this is your shop.
What you will do:
- Run the shop floor day to day: assign work, set priorities, keep every bay productive
- Turn wrenches - diagnose and repair transmissions, drivetrains, and general automotive work
- Own quality: check jobs, catch comebacks before they leave, road-test
- Coach and develop the techs; help them produce and grow
- Keep the shop clean, safe, and on schedule
What we are looking for:
- Proven automotive repair skill, strong in transmission and drivetrain
- Leadership or lead-tech experience (foreman, lead, or ready to step up)
- Accurate diagnostics and a track record of quality, steady production
- Your own hand tools; valid driver's license and clean driving record
- ASE certification is a plus
Pay and growth:
- Base salary PLUS a production bonus and a shop-production override - you get paid when the shop wins
- Estimated $75,000 to $130,000 per year depending on base and shop production
- Real authority to run the floor and build the crew
Benefits:
- 401(k)
- Employee discount
- Flexible schedule
- Paid time off
