Adult Peer Support Specialist
Job Summary:
The Adult Peer Support Specialist provides recovery-oriented, person-centered support to adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis and to those transitioning from crisis to stabilization. Using lived experience and formal peer support skills, the Peer Support Specialist offers hope, practical coping strategies, and assistance navigating services and natural supports. This role collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary crisis team to promote safety, engagement, and continuity of care while maintaining clear boundaries and confidentiality.
We have openings to serve Butler County or Warren and Clinton Counties!
Responsibilities:
- Utilize shared lived experience with caregivers
- Work with a clinical team to engage caregivers in recommended services
- Serve as a liaison and advocate for caregivers in need of peer support with the Mobile Response Stabilization Services team (MRSS)
- Build and maintain relationships and good communication with other service providers and supports in the community
Requirements:
- Experience as a caregiver for a child with behavioral health challenges and/or mental health diagnosis(es)
- High School Diploma required
- Strong communication and engagement skills
- Ability to drive to other work locations and within the community
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and auto insurance required
- Flexible schedule with evening availability
Compensation & Benefits:
The role is part-time, hourly non-exempt position. We offer a supportive and flexible work environment, as well as:
