Licensed Driver's Education Program Instructor

BEST Driving Academy is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Class C Program Instructor to lead the development, launch, and delivery of our Class C Driver Training Program in North Carolina. This individual will play a pivotal role in establishing program curriculum, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing exceptional classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction that prepares students for successful careers as professional drivers.

The ideal candidate has successfully launched and instructed a Class C commercial driving program within the State of North Carolina and possesses a thorough understanding of state regulations, curriculum development, licensing requirements, and adult education best practices. This position requires a leader who is passionate about developing safe, confident drivers while helping build one of the premier driver training programs in the region.

Must be actively licensed to facilitate and teach a driver's education program in the State of North Carolina.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and ongoing success of BEST Driving Academy's Class C Driver Training Program.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve curriculum, lesson plans, training materials, and instructional schedules.
• Deliver engaging classroom instruction and hands-on behind-the-wheel training.
• Ensure all instruction complies with applicable North Carolina regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Prepare students for written examinations, road skills evaluations, and successful employment opportunities.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely coaching, feedback, and remediation when necessary.
• Maintain accurate training records, attendance documentation, student evaluations, and compliance files.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections, vehicle familiarization, defensive driving instruction, and safe operating procedures.
• Foster a positive, professional, and safety-focused learning environment.
• Coordinate with academy leadership to improve program effectiveness and student outcomes.
• Assist with program audits, state inspections, licensing requirements, and accreditation activities as needed.
• Stay current on changes to North Carolina regulations, industry best practices, and instructional methodologies.
• Represent BEST Driving Academy professionally with students, employers, regulatory agencies, and community partners.

Qualifications

Required

• Demonstrated experience successfully launching and instructing a Class C Driver Training Program in North Carolina.
• Thorough knowledge of North Carolina Class C licensing requirements, regulations, and driver education standards.
• Previous experience teaching adult learners in both classroom and practical driving environments.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• Ability to mentor, motivate, and coach individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.

Preferred

• Previous experience building or expanding a commercial driving academy.
• Curriculum development and instructional design experience.
• Experience working with workforce development agencies, community colleges, or employer-sponsored training programs.
• Class A license and driving experience is highly desired but not a requirement
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
