Relationship Manager

Position Type: Part-Time (approximately 20–25 hours per week)

Compensation: $27 to $30 per hour plus Commission

Position Overview

Best Friends Fur Ever is launching ACC Plus, a specialized care program designed for dogs recovering from surgical procedures or living with managed chronic conditions. Located within our Cockeysville resort, ACC Plus provides a structured, supportive environment that bridges the gap between veterinary discharge and home recovery.

The Relationship Manager will play a critical role in building awareness and referral partnerships with veterinary practices in the greater Baltimore region. This position focuses on cultivating trusted relationships with veterinary professionals, introducing the ACC Plus program, and generating referrals that support both the ACC Plus program and other Best Friends Fur Ever services.

This is a field-oriented role requiring local travel to veterinary offices, specialty practices, and community partners. No overnight travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

Veterinary Relationship Development

•  Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with local veterinary clinics, specialty hospitals, and veterinary referral partners.
•  Conduct in-person visits to veterinary offices to introduce ACC Plus services and provide educational materials.
•  Schedule and coordinate facility tours for veterinarians and practice managers.
•  Serve as the primary liaison between veterinary partners and the ACC Plus team.
• Program Awareness & Enrollment
•  Promote the benefits and capabilities of the ACC Plus program to veterinary professionals.
•  Support referral development for dogs recovering from orthopedic surgery, oncology treatments, and other medically managed conditions.
•  Track and manage referral activity and program enrollment metrics.

Strategic Outreach

•  Identify priority veterinary practices in the region and build an outreach schedule.
•  Support distribution of referral materials, introductory offers, and program updates.
•  Attend select local veterinary or pet industry events to promote ACC Plus services.
• Internal Collaboration
•  Work closely with the ACC Plus leadership team and resort management to communicate referral opportunities and client needs.
•  Provide feedback from veterinary partners to help refine services and messaging.
•  Assist with coordination of marketing initiatives such as media coverage, educational materials, and launch campaigns.
•  Referral Tracking & Reporting
•  Maintain records of veterinary outreach, referrals, and program enrollments.
•  Provide regular updates on relationship development and referral activity.
•  Help identify opportunities for cross-referrals into additional Best Friends Fur Ever services, including boarding and daycare.

Qualifications

•  Experience in relationship management, business development, veterinary practice relations, or animal health services preferred.
•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility with veterinary professionals.
•  Comfortable working independently and managing a structured outreach schedule.
•  Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to track referral activity and engagement.
•  Passion for animal care and understanding of the veterinary ecosystem is strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

  Performance bonus structure tied to:

o Enrollment of dogs into the ACC Plus program

o Documented referrals to additional Best Friends Fur Ever services

o Development of new veterinary partner relationships
