ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you an accounting leader with a desire to make an impact? Equahire is partnering with Best Care on a search for an Accounting Manager to own the accounting function and lead a small team. You’ll manage AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close while reporting directly to senior leadership. This is a hands-on role with real visibility.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Own the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Manage a team of 2–3 (AP/AR clerks, payroll)
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper account classifications
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for leadership review
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure integrity of daily reporting and drive
financial accountability
• Manage the P&L reporting process and flag variances
• Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls as the company scales
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Experience with Sage Intacct (strongly preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
• Hands-on leader comfortable managing AP/AR and payroll directly
• Detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working with a lean team
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA a plus
• Home services, construction, or multi-location experience is a plus but not required
