Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the Student Intern will be to provide mental health services based on the application of clinical knowledge obtained from graduate social work and/or psychology theory and principles. Specific duties include:
- Providing individual, family and group therapy;
- Providing services with the goal of collaboration and coordination with other community service providers;
- Completing clinical intake assessments and making appropriate referrals;
- Completing all paperwork associated with the financial, clinical, legal or regulatory management of the case or the Center's operations in a timely and accurate manner; and
- Assisting with the evolution of an effective, efficient program of services.
- Attend all associated term meetings.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Attending New Employee Orientation and completing required agency trainings.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as circumstances warrant.
Qualifications: The Student Intern position requires:
- graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus be enrolled in a graduate program of study that will lead to licensure/certification in the approved field of study;
- prior computer experience and basic computer fluency;
- reliable transportation and a valid, unrestricted driver's license;
- an ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;
- strong organizational skills;
- strong oral and written communication skills;
- strong interpersonal skills in working with diverse publics;
- flexibility in assigned working hours;
- a commitment to interdisciplinary and community mental health center approaches; and
- an energetic and positive approach to the rapidly evolving changes and challenges of a complex workplace.
