JOB DESCRIPTION

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree and Teaching License in the area of Elementary Education

REPORTS TO: Building Principal’s

JOB GOAL: Develop, plan, implement, and LEAD MATH and/or Reading INTERVENTIONS for students in grades K-5.

Support learning efforts for At-Risk students and parents to improve academic achievement.

This position will require commitment to:

1. Peer Leadership

2. Willingness to work before/after school hours

3. Implement an Academic Success Plan for identified at-risk students

4. Knowledge and use of technology

5. Knowledge and use of interventions in the areas of MATH and/or Reading / Literature

6. Work with At-Risk students identified with social emotional needs

7. Willingness to work with teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, and parents

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Academic Focus
1. Develop, implement, and lead MATH and/or READING INTERVENTIONS
2. Provide Peer Leadership in developing and implementing successful interventions.

3. Plan interventions: tier 2 and 3 instruction with grade level teams and as a department

4. Teach strategies to identified students

5. Analyze and use data to drive interventions and instruction

6. Progress monitor academic achievement

Behavioral Focus

1. Behavioral intervention as directed by classroom teacher, counselor, and/or building administrator, along with basic problem solving with students

2. Shadow identified students during "trigger times"

3. Monitor target behaviors

4. provide additional support in classrooms

Additional Focus Items

1. Positive rapport with students, staff, and parents

2. Dedicated to student success; firm, fair and consistent

3. Possess good organizational skills

4. Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the administration

Reports To: Sylvester Elementary Principal

Salary: $45,000 - $88,689 based on experience

Length of Contract: 185 days

Location: Sylvester Elementary

Start Date: August 24, 2026 New staff orientation TBD
