Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for leading all day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a small accounting team and owning the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the company’s financial reporting. This position requires a strong technical accounting background, the ability to manage and improve processes, and a willingness to be directly involved in the details when needed.
This position reports to an office located in Orlando, FL, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The Controller is responsible for leading all day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. This position requires a strong technical accounting background, the ability to manage and improve processes, and a willingness to be directly involved in the details when needed.
This position reports to an office located in Orlando, FL, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the full monthly close process across multiple entities
- Prepare and/or review financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Oversee and support A/R and A/P functions, ensuring timely collections and payments
- Supervise and develop accounting staff, including Staff Accountant and A/P Clerk
- Manage intercompany transactions and entity-level financial reporting
- Maintain and improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls
- Coordinate with external CPA firm, tax advisors, and auditors
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Assist leadership with financial analysis and reporting as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager preferred
- Strong experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Experience working with multiple entities required
- Property management, construction, or real estate accounting experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on approach with the ability to both lead and execute
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience using NetSuite is preferred, or an equivalent business management platform
