Employment Type: W2 Contract – 11 Months with the Possibility of Extension
Pay Rate: $55.00 – $65.00/hour (determined by experience)

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support avionics hardware qualification and verification testing in Phoenix, AZ. This role will focus on DO-160 qualification testing, environmental testing, EMI testing, and validation and verification activities for advanced electronic hardware products.

The ideal candidate will have strong hardware or product engineering experience, hands-on testing knowledge, and familiarity with avionics qualification standards. This position supports a high-visibility project involving advanced aerospace electronic products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute environmental and EMI qualification tests on avionics products.
  • Perform and document qualification, validation, and verification testing for electronic hardware.
  • Prepare detailed test reports to support regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with product certification activities for customer and regulatory acceptance.
  • Support FAA-related compliance and certification documentation.
  • Communicate non-compliance issues and test findings to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering tools, design software, and laboratory test equipment.
  • Support testing activities related to DO-160 and other product qualification standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate product performance and resolve test-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for test procedures, results, and compliance records.

Required Qualifications

  • 6 years of experience in hardware engineering, product engineering, or electronic hardware testing.
  • Experience with environmental and/or EMI testing for avionics product qualification.
  • Experience performing hardware verification testing.
  • Knowledge of electronic hardware engineering standards and specifications.
  • Ability to prepare clear and accurate technical documentation and test reports.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings and issues.
  • Experience using laboratory electronics test equipment.
  • Ability to support onsite testing activities in a regulated aerospace environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with product qualification standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-810.
  • Experience with avionics products or aerospace electronic hardware.
  • Experience with optical testing or evaluation instrumentation for electronic display characterization.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic display principles.
  • Experience applying engineering techniques to optimize products, parts, systems, or processes.
  • Experience supporting customer or regulatory certification activities.
