Lead Facilities Specialist
Location: Rocky Mount, NC 27804
Employment Type: W2 Contract, 6 month contract with possibility for extensions.
Role OverviewBEPC is seeking an experienced Lead Facilities Specialist to support our client’s Aerospace HSEF (Health, Safety, Environment, Facilities, and Business Resilience) organization. In this role, you will serve as a key member of the site leadership team, overseeing all aspects of facilities operations—including facilities management, production equipment, test assets, and capital project execution.
Leveraging strong project management skills, you will drive efficiency, reduce unplanned downtime, optimize operating costs, and ensure facility readiness that enables overall site success. This position reports directly to the ISC Site Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the facilities team and manage all phases of facilities project delivery, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight.
- Implement and sustain an effective Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program.
- Manage facility budgets, purchase orders, and vendor relationships.
- Coordinate project work to minimize disruption to facility and manufacturing operations; proactively align with leadership when unavoidable downtime (e.g., power shutdowns) occurs.
- Provide ongoing project updates to stakeholders, including cost tracking and scheduling progress.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining approved budgets and timelines.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce project cycle time and scrap related to poor equipment performance.
- Review and validate project readiness during annual capital planning cycles.
- Identify bundling opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
- Integrate sustainability and energy-efficiency strategies into all projects where feasible.
- Maintain relationships with municipal authorities to accelerate permitting processes.
- Reduce vendor, CapEx, and operational expenditures through strategic management.
- Improve waste reduction, increase recyclables, and enhance cost-benefit performance at the site.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7 years of project management and facilities management experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and construction documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general business software.
- Demonstrated understanding of construction, engineering, and architectural principles.
- Proven ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- High familiarity with contract and subcontract terms and conditions.
