Job Summary
The Hardscaping Laborer assists in the installation of outdoor hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other landscape structures. This role involves physical labor, working with a team, and supporting skilled crew members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Pavers, bricks, and natural stone
- Retaining walls and block systems
- Walkways, patios, and driveways
- Digging, grading, and leveling ground
- Spreading gravel, sand, and soil
- Compacting base materials
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment
- Operate basic hand and power tools (e.g., shovels, rakes, plate compactors, saws)
- Assist with measuring, cutting, and placing materials
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Follow instructions from the Lead Hand or Supervisor
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and use proper protective equipment
- Help with cleanup and project finishing tasks
Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or hardscaping preferred (but not always required)
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Basic knowledge of tools and construction practices is a plus
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Capable of prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to perform repetitive manual labor tasks
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
