Position Title: Sr Director Sunbelt Managed Logistics

Location: McDonough, GA

Reports To: President/Executive Management

Job Summary: The 3PL Transportation Logistics Sr Director of Sunbelt Managed Logistics is a senior executive responsible for leading and overseeing the entire Sunbelt 3PL transportation logistics division of the organization. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and execution of all transportation activities, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality service delivery. The Sr Director will drive innovation, continuous improvement, and strategic partnerships to enhance the company’s transportation logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership and Planning:
   • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the transportation logistics division, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives.
   • Formulate long-term plans to enhance transportation logistics capabilities and market position.
2. Operational Oversight:
   • Provide executive oversight of daily transportation logistics operations, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant processes.
   • Lead the optimization of inbound and outbound transportation activities to improve service levels and reduce costs.
3. Executive Management:
   • Collaborate with senior management to integrate transportation logistics strategies with overall business strategies.
   • Report on transportation logistics performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives to the executive team.
4. Fleet and Carrier Management:
   • Oversee the management and optimization of the third-party carriers and relationships.
   • Negotiate high-value contracts and strategic partnerships with carriers, ensuring competitive rates and superior service.
5. Innovation and Technology:
   • Drive the adoption of advanced transportation management systems (TMS) and other technologies to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
   • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and innovations to maintain a competitive edge.
6. Team Leadership and Development:
   • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of transportation logistics professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
   • Implement talent development programs to build leadership capabilities within the transportation logistics team.
7. Compliance and Risk Management:
   • Ensure adherence to all transportation regulations and industry standards.
   • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions and enhance supply chain resilience.
8. Financial Management:
   • Oversee the transportation logistics budget, ensuring cost control and optimal allocation of resources.
   • Drive initiatives to improve financial performance, including cost reduction and revenue enhancement strategies.
9. Customer Relationship Management:
   • Foster strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and addressing any transportation-related issues.
   • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to support business growth and customer retention.
   • Build a team that promotes customer service with goals and measurables to achieve customer satisfaction and growth.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of [10] years of senior leadership experience in transportation logistics, preferably within a 3PL environment.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing transportation logistics operations at a strategic level.
• Strong leadership and executive management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics technologies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional travel may be required.
