What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Student Services position at Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School?
The Director of Student Services (DSS) is responsible for the leadership, administration, and supervision of all supports offered to students through the student services office including but not limited to: special education, school nurses, homeless students, homebound programs. The DSS will have oversight over the IEP team meeting process by directly supervising Team Chairs. The DSS will coach and support special education teachers to ensure they are following the schools procedures for evaluations, IEP development, and required timelines to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations. The DSS reports to the Executive Director, and works collaboratively with other school leaders and teachers to ensure high quality special education service delivery, ensuring that all students have access to the curriculum and that the school is in compliance with all laws and regulations.BFCCPS opened in 1995 as one of the first Charter Schools in Massachusetts.
