What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Student Ministries position at GRACE CHAPEL INC?
About the Role:
If you’re passionate about helping students grow in faith, love building community, and want to make a real impact, this role is an incredible opportunity. We’re looking for a positive, energetic leader to guide the student ministry at our Foxboro Campus. You’ll help create a vibrant, welcoming environment where middle and high school students can discover who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him.
This is a part-time role (20-25 hours/week) and reports directly to the Foxboro Campus Pastor. The weekly schedule includes Sunday morning responsibilities. Information about the Foxboro Campus can be found at www.grace.org/Foxboro.
The Role Will:
You’ll take the lead in shaping and growing a student ministry for the campus that is relational, fun, and spiritually formative. In this role, you will:
-
Build meaningful relationships with students and model a healthy, relational approach to ministry.
-
Recruit, train, and encourage a team of committed volunteer leaders.
-
Partner with parents as they disciple their kids at home.
-
Work closely with the Foxboro Campus Team to help students feel connected to the broader church community.
-
Collaborate with student ministry staff across all Grace Chapel campuses to create consistent, engaging programs—weekly gatherings, discipleship opportunities, retreats, and cross‑cultural experiences.
-
Help students transition smoothly from Children’s Ministry into Student Ministry, and eventually into life after high school.
-
Provide organizational leadership, including planning, budgeting, and ministry development.
-
Participate in staff life and church activities as time allows.
What You Bring:
We’re looking for someone who is excited to grow, eager to lead, and passionate about students. You’ll thrive in this role if:
-
You connect naturally with middle and high school students—and their parents.
-
You’re excited to build a student ministry that is fun, creative, and spiritually impactful.
-
You have a heart for students who are exploring faith or far from Christ, and you can communicate the gospel in ways that resonate with today’s teens.
-
You enjoy being part of a collaborative, multi‑campus church staff.
-
You’re a team‑builder who can inspire, equip, and support volunteers.
-
You’re a strong communicator—comfortable teaching, leading discussions, and engaging with families.
-
You’re flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to the fast‑moving nature of church ministry.
-
You’re comfortable with technology (MS Office, Adobe, databases) and willing to learn new tools.
Education & Experience
-
Experience working with middle or high school students—whether through church, camp, mentoring, or volunteer roles.
-
An undergraduate degree is a plus but not required.
-
A desire to keep learning, with a solid theological and biblical foundation and the ability to apply Scripture in age‑appropriate, culturally relevant ways.
Personal Characteristics
-
You have a growing relationship with Jesus and a desire to help students grow in theirs.
-
You’re energetic, enthusiastic, and excited to be part of a local church team.
-
You enjoy building teams and empowering volunteers.
-
You’re organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
-
You’re relational, approachable, and able to create a welcoming environment for students and families.
