Benhaven School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Paraeducators, on a per diem basis. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support to students and teachers in the classroom to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
Status: per diem
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9:00am-4:30pm and Wednesday 9:00am-1:30pm

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities
- Work with individual students or small groups to provide additional support and guidance
- Help to manage student behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment
- Provide assistance with classroom materials and resources, such as organizing materials and setting up equipment
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to meet the individual needs of students
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and performance
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in education and special education best practices
- Cross-training with residential to accommodate transportation needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus, but will train the right candidate.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and teachers
