Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled work force. The incumbent is also responsible for managing Boyd Gaming’s surveillance activities to ensure that casino operations are conducted in accordance with State Gaming Regulations, that casino patrons are not engaged in illegal activities and that soft and hard count operations are conducted in accordance with policies and statutory regulations; ensures that all potential violations of regulations are investigated and corrective actions taken, and conducts selected statistical surveys.
- Responsible for actively building and retaining customer relations and acts as a mentor to employees in order to provide superior customer service.
- Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates and manages staff to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
- Researches, evaluates and tests latest technology in surveillance in order to develop most appropriate system to achieve security, effectiveness and cost efficiency objectives.
- Establishes and maintains department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget to achieve proper management of department.
- Works with Casino Operations to design and conduct highly sensitive investigations to facilitate fact-finding probe into potentially illegal or inappropriate activities.
- Coordinates statistical survey activities and reports production in order to facilitate information for management.
- Communicates and develops business relations with gaming control in order to stay abreast of regulations and practices.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to communicate effectively all levels of employees, as well as outside contacts.
- Knowledge of gaming regulations.
- Ability to identify and understand cheating techniques in gaming and soft count.
- Understanding and working knowledge of electronic equipment used in surveillance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of five years’ experience in surveillance, security, or law enforcement. Previous management experience is highly desirable.
