You Will
- Own enterprise data governance end-to-end
- Lead and scale Master Data Management (MDM)
- Govern the enterprise roadmap and portfolio of initiatives
- Partner closely with the Director of PMO to mature an enterprise-grade PMO
- Directly lead data-centric and operational initiatives where governance is mission-critical
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Governance & Ownership
- Serve as the executive owner of enterprise data governance, defining standards, policies, and accountability across all core systems.
- Establish governance frameworks for master, transactional, reporting, and analytical data.
- Define clear data ownership, stewardship, and escalation models across business and IT.
- Drive data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and integrity used for operations, reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
- Lead enterprise data quality programs, including metrics, monitoring, remediation, and root-cause analysis.
- Partner with IT, Finance, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain to align data with business processes and outcomes.
- Ensure governance supports compliance, auditability, and risk management.
- Own and lead the Master Data Team, including structure, staffing, performance, and development.
- Define master data domains, standards, and lifecycle processes (create, maintain, govern, retire).
- Ensure master data consistency across ERP, CRM, BI, integrations, and downstream systems.
- Drive adoption of standardized definitions and business rules across the enterprise.
- Serve as the executive escalation point for master data conflicts and prioritization decisions.
- Provide governance oversight for the enterprise roadmap, ensuring alignment to strategy, capacity, and sequencing.
- Establish portfolio governance processes for intake, prioritization, dependency management, and value tracking.
- Ensure transparency into initiative status, risks, tradeoffs, and impacts.
- Partner with executive leadership to enable data-driven investment and resource decisions.
- Ensure roadmap metrics and reporting are accurate, consistent, and trusted.
- Directly manage data-centric and operational initiatives where governance and structure are essential.
- Ensure projects adhere to governance standards and enterprise priorities.
- Partner with leaders to define scope, success metrics, and measurable outcomes.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and organizational impacts.
- Feed lessons learned back into enterprise governance standards and practices.
- Partner closely with the Director of PMO to design and mature an enterprise-grade PMO.
- Help define governance frameworks, decision rights, standards, and controls.
- Support the evolution of the PMO toward execution excellence and portfolio transparency.
- Act as a strategic advisor on portfolio health, governance gaps, and organizational readiness.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on data integrity, governance risk, and portfolio decisions.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across IT, Finance, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and Executive Leadership.
- Translate complex governance concepts into clear, business-focused language.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10 years of progressive experience in data governance, master data management, enterprise programs, or portfolio governance.
- Proven success establishing governance frameworks in complex, multi-system environments.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing teams.
- Strong partnership experience with PMOs and executive leadership.
- Deep expertise in data governance, master data management, and data quality.
- Strong understanding of portfolio governance, prioritization, and enterprise delivery models.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution.
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder influence.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity while driving clarity and structure.
