Role and Responsibilities
The Nonsterile Compounding Pharmacist Manager oversees all nonsterile compounding activities of the pharmacy. This includes personalizing prescriptions to meet unique requirements of patients by creating new formulations and updating existing ones at the direction of the Belmar Pharma Solutions Corporate Product Team. The Compounding Manager will ensure batch records and compounded products are accurate and of high quality. This role involves training on how to compound all nonsterile dosage forms and performing compounding tasks as needed. Additionally, the Nonsterile Compounding Manager will observe, participate, and be qualified in all non-sterile compounding activities, while supervising compounding pharmacists, technician supervisors, technicians, and support personnel. The role also requires collaboration with the Quality Department to develop, implement, and train on SOPs at the PIC's direction.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to nonsterile compounding Strong understanding of USP and USP and all nonsterile related compounding guidance Develops new formulations and maintain existing formula worksheets according to the company's SOPs Troubleshoots formulation problems and propose solutions Writes and reviews compounding SOPs Supervises all nonsterile compounding technicians and pharmacists for adherence to company policies and procedures Trains technicians and pharmacists in PK Compounder and other pharmacy software, and compounding equipment. Assures all compounding personnel's training documents are up to date. Compounds with technicians as workflow requires Assists with staff pharmacist and technician duties in various departments, including dispensing Communicates extensively with the PIC, compounding pharmacists, team leads and compounding technicians Collaborates with the Quality Department on all process improvements, actively contributes with investigations, deviations, and CAPAs (Corrective Action Preventative Action) Checks compounding activity performance by pharmacists and technicians and releases batches to the quality assurance team accordingly Directly supervises the activities of compounding pharmacists and technicians to ensure accurate compounding and dispensing of medications, reporting issues immediately to the PIC Leads weekly department meetings Actively participates in all pharmacy inspections including but not limited to (FDA, NABP, DEA, state boards of pharmacy) Meets weekly or as needed with the corporate product team Meets monthly with all compounding managers across Belmar Pharma Assures project work and change initiatives are appropriately completed on time and executed completely Maintains compounding laboratory space to standard set forth in policies and procedures (e.g., LUMAC, equipment maintenance schedules, cleaning) Ensures compliance with company patient confidentiality privacy requirements Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures that apply to pharmacy services Prepares work schedules and monitors workflow processes to meet or exceed (KPI) Key Performance Indicators for the department Provide for the educational needs of pharmacy staff and patients as it pertains to the process of non-sterile compounding Assists the PIC in ensuring adequate control and documentation of controlled substances used in compounding Must be able to work in a variety of positions locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking, for extended periods of time Aware of potential exposure to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds. Some chemicals are classified as hazardous and special safety precautions must be taken when working with these chemicals Must be able to wear required compounding personal protective and safety equipment for lengthy periods of time when required Perform sother duties as assigned

- Holds an active and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state the pharmacy is located
- 3 years of compounding experience
- 1 years of pharmacy leadership/management preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain additional state pharmacist licenses in good standing as required
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail?
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and ability to utilize various software programs
- Ability to learn pharmacy dispensing software quickly (e.g., LifeFile)
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as dosage calculation, formulation of pharmaceutical preparations and data analysis
- Strong chemistry background preferred
- Technical writing skills for writing Standard Operating Procedures preferred
