Position Overview

Belmar Pharma Solutions is a rapidly growing company focusing on the wellness/hormone replacement therapy (HRT) industry. Belmar is headquartered in Golden, Colorado and is backed by two Boston-area private equity firms with deep experience in specialty healthcare and pharmacy, Webster Equity Partners and MedEquity Capital.

Belmar is implementing an integrated supply chain strategy where BSO plays critical roles in supporting healthcare providers as well as the 503A pharmacies in the Belmar organization. BSO currently manufactures hormone pellets and injectable testosterone for sale directly to physician offices (for office use). BSO is expanding its product suite, manufacturing capabilities, and operational scale to support continued growth, regulatory expectations, and enterprise integration.

Position Description Summary

The Director of Operations for BSO will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of operational performance within Belmar Pharma’s 503B cGMP operations. This role provides strategic and executional leadership across manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and facility operations, with accountability for quality, cost, delivery, compliance, and scalability.

The Director of Operations will lead operational aspects of new product introduction including process development, production readiness, production release processes, standard costing, and development of scalable manufacturing plans. This role is responsible for day-to-day operations while simultaneously building future-state capabilities, capacity, and leadership bench strength.

The Director partners closely with the COO, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and the broader Belmar leadership team in formulating and executing operational strategy, aligning resources, managing risk, and delivering predictable operational outcomes aligned with enterprise growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and delivers BSO operational performance against defined KPIs, including throughput, yield, cost per unit, on-time release, inventory turns, and labor efficiency.
  • Translates enterprise strategy into executable operational plans for BSO, aligning people, process, and capital to growth objectives.
  • Designs and operates manufacturing systems that are technically sound, promote effective and efficient operations, and comply with cGMP requirements.
  • Leads capacity planning, staffing models, equipment selection, and capital deployment to support current and future demand.
  • Responsible for analyzing facility requirements and working cross-functionally within operations (R&D, supply chain, procurement, and compliance) as well as functions outside operations (Quality, Engineering, HR, and Finance).
  • Champions self-inspection readiness efforts to ensure the operation is prepared for corporate, regulatory, and customer audits.
  • Serves as the primary operational leader during FDA, DEA, and other regulatory inspections, owning inspection preparation, response, and sustainable remediation in partnership with Quality.
  • Works closely with Quality to identify and mitigate risks in manufacturing operations that could negatively impact product quality, compliance, or delivery.
  • Approves change controls and SOPs that impact Operations.
  • Provides leadership in generating key initiatives and drives a culture of accountability, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement across BSO.
  • Creates and sustains a continuous improvement mindset that delivers measurable improvements in quality, cost, delivery, safety, and inventory performance using Lean and operational excellence tools.
  • Conducts and supports strategic planning for future-state operations, including facility expansion, automation, and scalability initiatives.
  • Supports new business initiatives and ensures Operations are fully prepared for New Product Introduction, including process validation, staffing, cost modeling, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Responsible for inventory management, including controlled substances, with clear ownership of inventory accuracy, turns, and risk mitigation.
  • Owns demand-to-production planning, translating forecasts into executable production, staffing, and inventory plans.
  • Interacts with various regulatory bodies including FDA, DEA, and State Boards as the senior operational representative for BSO.
  • Accountable for asset reliability, facility performance, and preventive maintenance strategy.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Manages and develops subordinate managers leading manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution functions.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of BSO operational teams.
  • Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work with a strong emphasis on accountability and results.
  • Builds strong cross-functional partnerships and influences effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Hires, mentors, and develops leaders; builds succession plans and bench strength for critical operational roles.
  • Champions a culture of teamwork, communication, and ownership.
  • Ensures team members receive appropriate training and development to meet cGMP and operational expectations.
  • Provides clear vision, direction, and leadership presence; reinforces Belmar’s mission, vision, and values through day-to-day leadership behaviors

Qualifications & Experience

  • Required bachelor's degree of Engineering or Science or related field of study.
  • Required Minimum 10 years of experience in a cGMP-regulated industry.
  • Required Minimum 6 years of people management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing, supply chain, and warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational budgets and delivering financial targets.
  • Experience scaling operations in a high-growth, private-equity-backed, or transformation environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, including executive-level communication.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence using Lean and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong decision-making capability in complex, highly regulated environments.
  • High organizational capability with ability to prioritize and execute multiple critical initiatives in parallel.

Travel

As part of your job duties, travel may be required. If applicable, you will be compensated at the current IRS mileage reimbursement rate.

Pay Range: $170,700.00 - $179,700.00
