The Graduate Pharmacist Intern supports pharmacy operations under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role is intended for a graduating PharmD student who will transition into a Staff Pharmacist position upon successful completion of all licensure requirements. The intern contributes to safe medication dispensing, patient care services, and daily operational workflow while developing the competencies required for independent pharmacist practice.

Responsibilities
Medication Preparation & Dispensing
- Prepare, label, and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Support inventory management, including ordering, stock rotation, and controlled-substance compliance.
- Assist with prescription verification steps appropriate to intern scope.
- Provide patient counseling and education within intern practice limits.
- Participate in clinical initiatives that support quality, safety, and patient outcomes.
- Perform prescription data entry and workflow coordination.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Support a positive, efficient, and patient-centered pharmacy environment.
- Engage in training and performance feedback to prepare for transition into a Staff Pharmacist role.
- Demonstrate growth in clinical judgment, communication, and leadership.
- Stay current with pharmacy practice standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- PharmD degree or expected graduation within weeks.
- Colorado intern licensure and intent to obtain full pharmacist licensure promptly.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
