Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution center by managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving processes, as well as familiarity with warehouse management systems.
Duties
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect packages for damage and report discrepancies to management.
- Organize and maintain stock in the warehouse, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely and completing necessary documentation.
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks and reach trucks to move products within the warehouse.
- Assist with order fulfillment, ensuring timely processing of customer orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize shipping and receiving processes.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, including order fulfillment processes.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and reach trucks safely.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems for tracking inventory.
- Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
