The Flexible Pathways Paraeducator supports students engaged in non-traditional, personalized, or alternative learning pathways. This position provides academic, behavioral, and logistical support to students participating in programs such as work-based learning, virtual courses, dual enrollment, independent study, and other personalized learning experiences. The paraeducator works under the supervision of licensed educators to ensure student success in a flexible, student-centered educational model.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Support students in achieving goals outlined in Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs), Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), or 504 Plans.
Provide academic assistance in various settings, including classrooms, off-campus sites, and virtual learning environments.
Monitor student progress, attendance, and engagement; communicate concerns to supervising educators or case managers.
Assist with planning, transportation logistics, and supervision for work-based learning or community-based experiences, including community service.
Foster positive relationships with students to support social-emotional development and personal growth.
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs.
Maintain accurate records and data on student performance and engagement.
Uphold confidentiality and comply with all district policies and applicable laws.
Support larger sub needs in the building as requested by Principal or Assistant Principal
Qualifications and Skills:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or related field
Familiarity with flexible pathways models such as dual enrollment, online learning, or internships
Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
Experience working with adolescents in an educational or support setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
