Long-Term Social Studies Substitute

Duration: 2025/2026 School Year Grade Level: 9 - 12 Subject Area: Social Studies Job Description/Overview: BFUHS is seeking a qualified and passionate Long-Term Substitute Social Studies Teacher to provide consistent, engaging instruction to our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Social Studies, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to follow established curriculum while building meaningful connections with students. Responsibilities in include: Design & Deliver daily instruction in accordance with the school’s curriculum and standards Manage classroom behavior, creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records Communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and staff Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, or school events as required Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students Follow all school policies and procedures Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education Valid Vermont Teachers License, Social Studies endorsement Teaching or Classroom experience, preferably at the secondary level Passion for education and student growth
