Title: Retail Sales Associate
Employment Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time or Part-Time (16 to 40 hours per week)
Work Schedule: Sunday availability required; Morning (8:45 to 5:15) and Evening (10:45 to 7:15) shifts required based upon store needs

Position Overview:
The Retail Sales Associate provides exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of Bella's Voice thrift stores. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming shopping experience, operating the point-of-sale system, maintaining an attractive sales floor, stocking merchandise, and advancing Bella's Voice's mission through every customer interaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service.
- Assist customers with locating merchandise and answering questions.
- Promote Bella's Voice's mission during customer interactions.
- Resolve routine customer concerns or refer them to a supervisor.
- Accurately operate the point-of-sale system.
- Process cash, credit card, and other transactions.
- Balance cash drawer and follow cash handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Stock merchandise and recover sales floor displays.
- Maintain clean, organized, and attractive merchandise presentations.
- Assist with seasonal displays and promotional merchandise.
- Assist with accepting donations.
- Transport merchandise to the sales floor.
- Support pricing, tagging, and merchandising activities.
- Work collaboratively with coworkers, volunteers, and supervisors.
- Participate in meetings and training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Customer service or retail experience preferred but not required.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail, thrift, or nonprofit experience.
- Cashiering experience.
- Passion for animal welfare and community service.
