We are seeking compassionate and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Day Program team.
Position Overview
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a structured day program setting. This role focuses on promoting independence, building life skills, and encouraging community involvement.
This is an active, engaging role ideal for someone who is patient, dependable, and enjoys making a meaningful impact.
The program is located on a bus line, making it accessible for reliable transportation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals during daily program activities, including skill-building, socialization, and community outings
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as hygiene, grooming, and meal support as needed
- Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in their ISP/IP plans
- Engage individuals in recreational, educational, and community-based activities
- Provide job coaching and pre-vocational support (preferred experience)
- Monitor individuals’ well-being and report any concerns to management promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program environment
- Follow all safety procedures, including safe transfers if applicable
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including daily notes and incident reports
- Maintain professionalism and respect while supporting individuals in a person-centered manner
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Job coaching or pre-vocational experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license preferred, but not required
- Ability to work as part of a team in a structured environment
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow direction and maintain professionalism at all times
Requirements
- Must be able to pass background checks and meet DDS requirements
- Must complete required trainings, including abuse/neglect and safety training
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
