Plant Accountant
Pasadena, TX (Onsite)
$70,000 - $90,000 Base ~9% Bonus
A stable and well-established chemical manufacturing company in the Pasadena/Bayport area is seeking a Plant Accountant to join its lean accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with manufacturing and cost accounting experience who enjoys owning the accounting process in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Reporting directly to the Controller, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the financial health of a large-scale manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close activities, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the accuracy of financial records
- Support accounts payable, limited accounts receivable, and customer billing
- Maintain fixed asset records and account for capital projects
- Prepare cost accounting analyses and variable cost reports
- Calculate and file Texas sales and use tax
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Support internal, financial, tax, and risk management audits
- Process employee expense reports and maintain vendor records
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased accounting efficiency
- Provide backup support to the Controller and assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Manufacturing and cost accounting experience required
- Experience with:
- General ledger accounting
- Month-end close
- Fixed assets
- Capital projects
- Bank reconciliations
- Sales & use tax
- Accounts payable and billing
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- CPA or CMA is a plus
