Business Unit Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and operationally focused Business Unit Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a key member of the leadership team. This executive will partner closely with the Business Unit President/General Manager to drive financial performance, support strategic initiatives, and provide insights that enable profitable growth.

The Business Unit CFO will oversee all financial aspects of the business, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, cost management, forecasting, reporting, internal controls, and capital allocation. This leader will balance strategic decision-making with hands-on financial leadership in a dynamic manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary financial advisor to the Business Unit President and leadership team.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies that support long-term business objectives.
  • Provide actionable financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability, cash flow, and return on investment.
  • Lead annual strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Evaluate capital investments, pricing strategies, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Present financial results, forecasts, and business performance to executive leadership.

Financial Leadership

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Lead the month-end close process and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Monitor key financial metrics, identify trends, and communicate business risks and opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, analytics, and decision support.

Operations & Cost Management

  • Partner with operations leadership to improve manufacturing performance, productivity, and cost structure.
  • Oversee standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze operational performance and recommend actions to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Support supply chain, procurement, engineering, and commercial teams with financial analysis and decision support.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning process.
  • Develop financial models to support growth initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast while providing meaningful variance analysis.
  • Identify business trends and recommend corrective actions when necessary.

Accounting, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee general accounting, financial reporting, fixed assets, inventory, and balance sheet integrity.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and corporate finance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, treasury, and financial reporting requirements.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance organization.
  • Foster collaboration across finance, operations, sales, supply chain, and executive leadership.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Build organizational capabilities that support future business growth.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
  • Prior experience as a Business Unit CFO, Division CFO, Finance Director, Controller, or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and strategic business analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and drive business decisions.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced financial reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance.


Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
