Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead all HR functions for two meat processing facilities with a combined workforce of 500 employees. This role requires a strong, operationally focused HR leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day HR execution in a fast-paced, multi ethnic manufacturing environment. The HR Director will be responsible for employee relations, compliance, labor management, recruiting, training, and HR systems, with limited administrative support. The ideal candidate is a servant leader who is adaptable, approachable, and comfortable working directly with front-line employees and plant leadership in a non-union environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Leadership & Culture:
o Model and promote a servant leadership philosophy.
o Build trust with frontline employees, supervisors, and leadership teams.
o Foster an adaptable HR function supporting operational needs.
o Drive engagement, retention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Employee Relations:
o Handle employee relations, investigations, discipline, and terminations.
o Coach supervisors on effective people leadership and documentation.
o Promote a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
• Compliance & Risk Management:
o Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
o Manage audits, inquiries, and regulatory reporting.
o Work with Safety Director on workers’ compensation and ensuring employee safety
o Handle unemployment, DOL inquiries, FMLA/NE leave notices and programs.
• Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development:
o Lead recruiting and hiring for hourly and salaried roles.
o Develop onboarding, training, and retention programs.
o Partner with operations on workforce planning.
• Compensation, Benefits & HR Systems:
o Manage compensation and benefits programs.
o Oversee HRIS and personnel records.
o Develop HR policies and handbook updates.
• Supervision:
o Direct and support HR Assistants across two plants.
o Prioritize work effectively in a lean HR department.
Qualifications
• Required:
o Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
o 7–12 years of HR leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
o Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
o Ability to work independently in a lean HR structure.
o Bilingual in English and Spanish desired.
o Demonstrated servant leadership and adaptability.
• Preferred:
o SHRM or PHR/SPHR certification.
o Experience in manufacturing environments in Director role
o Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired.

Work Environment
Travel between two plant locations as needed. High interaction with frontline employees and leadership.
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
