Director of Accounting & Finance
$125-150k/year plus bonus
Kansas City, Kansas
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as lead in maintenance of the ERP system.
- Partner with the company President to help drive profitable growth.
- Responsible for all day-to-day accounting functions.
- Submit financial reporting on a time basis with accuracy.
- Explain fluctuations between actual vs. prior year vs. budget, financial trends, and forecasts.
- Preparation of monthly supplemental reporting package for submission to the corporate office
- Preparation of financial bridges to illustrate and summarize changes in measures.
- Preparation/review of budgets and business plans
- Preparation of basic financial models to support business decision making (ROI analysis for capital investments, pricing decisions, vendor contract negotiations, product rationalizations, make vs. buy analysis etc.)
- Develop performance measures (KPIs)
- Manage outside consultants, external auditors, lawyers, and investment bankers as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Robust knowledge of US GAAP and exposure to IAS/IFRS a plus.
- Ability to analyze, organize summarize and articulate complex legal and financial information.
- Knowledge and understanding of common indirect business taxes (sales and use, payroll, tariff, etc.). General understanding of income taxes and provision calculation is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA a plus, but not required).
- At least five to eight years of accounting experience are required.
- Experience with an ERP system.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
