TITLE: Installation / Service Technician DATE: October 1, 2021
DEPARTMENT(S): Installed Sales FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Installed Sales Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Work independently or as a member of a team installing or servicing primarily doors, windows, and decking at a customer location.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
*Install or service customer product in a quick, efficient, and safe manner.
*Suggest modifications of product or installation to meet customer requirements.
*Instruct customer personnel in the correct operation of the product.
*Lift, handle, or maintain the product or its operation.
*Maintain and account for materials and tools used to complete work projects.
*Take necessary actions to maintain a clean worksite throughout all phases of the project.
*Work independently or as a team member.
*Use specialized or standard applications in the performance of duties.
*Work assignments are varied, and of moderate scope and complexity, with limited supervision.
*Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: GED with a formal technical program and 1 – 5 years of previous trim carpentry experience at a minimum, or equivalent.
SKILLS: Ability to follow basic written and verbal instructions as well as do simple math calculations. Possess forward-thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to communicate with customers in a friendly, presentable manner. Respectful of others' property, whether it be personal, company, or customer.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES, ETC.: Valid driver’s license.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Not applicable.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Forklift, various hand and power tools, machinery, and equipment, phone, two-way radio, calculator, fax, photocopier, and other office equipment. (The company furnishes the majority of tools, with the employee providing basic ones such as a hammer, tape measure, etc.)
TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS:
*Requires standing, squatting, twisting, bending, turning, and kneeling for extended periods.
*Requires a normal range of hearing and vision.
*Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance when needed.
*Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
*Ability to climb and descend ladders and scaffolding as well as work at elevated heights.
*Ability to read a tape measure accurately and quickly.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
*Seasonal exposure to adverse weather conditions.
*Work for up to 8 - 12 hours per day or as needed.
