Position Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of raw materials, components, and finished goods within a manufacturing facility. This role supports production by ensuring timely delivery of materials and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Responsibilities:
- Practice safe working habits and follow safety procedures, policy, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9001:2008.
- Deliver raw materials and components to production lines in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by properly labeling, storing, and tracking materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and production areas.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Report any damaged or missing items to supervisors.
- Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet production needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Basic math and computer skills (inventory systems experience is a plus).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, and varying temperatures.
- May require overtime or shift work, including weekends.
